Agile Messenger IM review

For those who used Agile Messenger during  Iphone 1.14 firmware days, they will know how cool is this IM client.

Basically, this chat client is priced at $9.99 for the first 30 days.

After that, the price of this app will change. This is similar to Beejive which is priced at $9.99 for two days and will revert to the original price after that.

I played around with the app and  have  the following impressions:

1. Agile messenger allows forwarding of your friends’ messages to your email when you are offline.

2. Agile uses its own gateway to help you stay online instead of using iphone backgrounder process which sucks up your battery. This is a server-side feature (agile’s servers) rather than a client’s side feature (eg. your iphone).

3. It is able to show offline contacts. You can turn this feature on and off.

4. You can configure the type of fonts used in your nick, status and group.You can also change the size of the fonts and configure the size of your IM icons by using the slider. Slide left to decrease and right to increase.

5. You are able to chat with your friends in tabbed browser mode. If you want to close a particular conversation with your friend, you need to tap the “menu” button followed by a “Close” action. You are able to send pictures to the conversation from sources like your camera, photo library or saved photos.

If you got too many chat opened, you got to tap “Menu” followed by “Close” action many times. It will be good to have a small cross icon  beside the menu button to enable closing of the chat windows more easier.

6. You can enable auto-correction on to do spell-check of what you type in your chat windows.

7. You are able to check your friends’ contact information, move a particular contact to a group or even rename the contacts.

8.  You can take ad-hoc pics from your camera and send to the chat window.

9.   You can send your recorded voice message directly to the chat window by holding on the loudspeaker icon on the right and speaking through your iphone’s microphone.

10.  Agile messenger differentiates between the various IM clients  by the following colours:
-  Green for icq
-  Blue for msn
-  Yellow for AIM
-  Red for yahoo messenger
-  Grey for Jabber
-  Purple for Goggle Talk

You have to remember the color codes especially when you open too many IM clients like icq, msn all together.
This can be overcomed as the user uses this app more often. Beginners may have a hard time at first.

11. You are able to keep history of your text messages as well as voice messages  and browse them when you are online.

12. You can add many different emoticons to your chat windows.

Chirp! Promo Codes Giveaway Contest

Music Neon Game Review

Previously, I review Glow! on my review site.

Now I am going to introduce another amazing game called MusicNeon. This game lets you experience amazing visual and sound effects on your iphone or ipod touch.

The game itself is very easy to play. Your task is to rotate the neon tubes on the left and in the centre to form a path which connects the positive electrode on the left to the negative electrode on the right.

After they are connected, all the neon tubes will be destroyed in sparks and they will be replaced with new random neon tubes from above.

What I like about this game:

1. Each time I rotate the neon tubes, I will trigger a piano note. As the tubes are connected. the notes in the path will be replayed as one sweet-sounding piano lick with sparking neon lights. The longer the connected path, the better the music will sound!

2. The controls are great. In the main menu, I can swipe up and down to select the level I want to play. Quite innovative I will say. There are simple instructions which guide me about the controls before I begin playing Music Neon.

3. Each time, you complete a level, the neon tubes will be collected in your “neon box”. You can play the music notes after your neon box is full.

What I dislike about this game:

1. To be frank, for a price of $0.99 and I get to hear such nice music on my iphone while I play, I have nothing to complain about. This is simply the best game I ever played which can be compared to Glow!

Crazy Frogzy Game Review

Crazy Frogzy is a simple game for kids or adults.

You will control a crazy frog called Toncho. He loves sticking out his tongue and catching bugs. It is pretty funny
when he does that.

Your task is to help this cute and crazy frog catch and eat as many flying bugs but you must avoid the bees. Once your frog ate the bee, it will let out a scream and you will laugh at its cuteness. The controls are simple – Tilt to move and touch to jump!  Simple game with super cute graphics and animations! This game has 25 increasingly difficult levels and is priced at $0.99.

Upsi Runner Game Review

Upsi Runner is a simple game for kids or adults.

The game lets you play as a snail. You have to guide the snail to the top of the screen dodging butterflies, bombs and monsters.

I find this game similar to Frogger. This game goes by horizontally instead of vertically which Frogger is based on. The game controls are pretty straightforward. You need to wait and tap and hold to the right or left depending on where you want your snail to go to.

You have to be quick to get the snail to the other end. Sometimes, I find I have to wait if I miss the timing. Timing is very important to get your snail across.

There are 3 difficulty levels in this game with 24 achievements to win and there is even an option for 2 Player race for head to head action.

Simple game but so much fun!

FLIP Game Review

The game FLIP consists of three games together – Speed FLIP, Puzzle FLIP and Standard FLIP. FLIP is a puzzle game where you rotate your idevice and the colored gems fall together. Your job is to make similar colored gems match each other close together and they are cleared once they matches each other.

I played FLIP and felt that standard FLIP and speed FLIP are similar in nature. The only difference is that speed FLIP has a time factor in the game. The timer starts counting down straightaway so you have to match those gems fast enough and clear them immediately. Standard FLIP is concerned only the maximum number of gems which you can clear.

In puzzle FLIP, you have to go through a series of think-puzzles where you need to match gems with pulsating-shadows of the similar color. The gem must land on top of the like-colored shadow for a successful match.

There are 100 puzzles in Puzzle FLIP and 100 more puzzles in Speed FLIP. You will never grow tired of the games in FLIP!  The game instructions are very clear so any gamer can pick this game up in a short period of time without any difficulty.

The game also have nice built-in music and sound effects. You can listen to your own ipod music while playing this game and you can flip your ipod or iphone either horizontally or vertically to make those gems match each other. I suppose that is why the name of the game comes from!

Bailout America Game Review & Promo Codes’ Contest

Bailout America is a lemmings-style game. The game lets you use Uncle Sam’s hat to get tools to help those Mister Taxpayer Dollars from running into oil fires, hospitals and tanks. There are 3 tools to choose from Uncle Sam’s hat – Axe, Bridge and Water Bucket. There are ten stages in total for this game, each with varied engaging in-game music.

The Axe is to destroy the buildings. The water bucket is to put out the oil fires and the bridge is to fill the gaps between the pathways so that the little dollar notes can walk over into the CEO Cat’s mouth. The game may seems to be ironic of the current economic crisis of saving the banks. If any of the dollar notes “die”, they will become crumpled notes which hinders the path. You have to touch the crumpled note to lift it up and flick it away. Once the obstacles are cleared, the money will move slowly towards the Cat. You can press and hold on the Cat to fast-forward the gameplay. At the end of the game, it will show how much money is in the CEO Cat’s Mouth.

This game is for casual play. If you like platform, lemmings-style games, then this game will be for you. I personally feel the game is abit repetitive. But for $0.99, it is a bargain buy especially it is on sale now. However, there are some some fun in using the 3 tools to help the money notes get across.

Tank-O-Box Game Review

Ever since I played crazy tanks, I am a fan of tank games. I am fortunate to know of a better tank game that is just released from the forums. This game is Tank-O-Box. This game is an arcade tank combat game where you operate a tank during intense battles which occurs in a box on an imaginary desk between amusing children sketches and office stationary.

Completing the mission won’t be simple as you think – the green tank have to battle against eight different types of tanks. You have to take advantage of the terrain each time at each different level to take cover and maneuver between the numerous obstacles before deciding to take your next shot at the enemies.

This game features outstanding 3D graphics and sound effects. There are 55 awe-inspiring game levels with addicting game play. The battleground consist of 30 types of terrain, four seasons; daylight and night effects.

What I like about this game:

1.  Before the next mission, the game gives a briefing about what to expect        before you begin the mission.

2. Each time when a tank explodes, there is smoke that surrounds the          casualty. The music is appropriate each time under different atmosphere. The music will change at each different level which gives the game some unique feeling at each level. There is also burning sounds when the buildings burn.

What I dislike about the game:

1. There is nothing I can complain about this game. If there is one thing I like to feedback, it will be the color of the controls. The controls are in brown which is very similar to the color of the battleground. Thus, it is sometimes hard to find the controls initially. However, once you get used to the game, using the controls can be child’s play to you. The circle button on the right represents the fire button while the left controls are the direction keys.

Overall, this game is certainly worth getting. For the price of $1.99, there are so many tanks to battle and 55 game levels!
