iRetouch is a multi-function image retouching tools all bundled in one small app for the idevice. You can use choose either basic tools or touch-up
tools in using this app.

The basic tools consist of crop, rotate, flip, resize your image, change the brightness or contrast or change the color tone of the pictures to black and white. Basically, for myself who is a photoshop newbie, I find the basic tools are good enough for me to use if I want to edit the pictures on my iphone. The basic tools have unlimited undo and redo. So if you make any mistakes, you can re-edit your pictures again. No worries!

The touch-up tools consist of pencil, brush, predefined stamps which you can adjust color, shape, size, opacity and hardness, brightness/hue/color touch up, eraser with adjustable size, shape, effect and hardness and clone stamp with smudge functions. It will sound complex if you are not a photoshop expert, isn’t it?

I feel there should be some inline video help tutorials in the app which can help the users pick up these different aspects of photo-retouching. The itunes page of this app did explain some of the functions but it is hard to visualise without video or pictures.

iRetouch’s current touch-up tools can edit images up to size of 1024×768 px but you can resize your picture back to 1600×1200 using basic tools if you require it.

Overall, I feel this app is worth the money but there is something I feel this app should improve on. When I finish editing my picture, it does not allow me to go back to iRetouch’s main menu, Instead, I can only exit iRetouch and relaunched the app again. One thing good about this feature is that it can autosave your picture when someone calls in. However, if you frequently uses iRetouch, this behavior will make you somewhat frustrated. I hope the developer do something about this in the next updates.

Functionality: 5/5
Ease of Use: 4/5
Value for Money: 5/5
Type of users:  Users take photos often and are photoshop savvy.
Overall: 4.5/5

Check this app on iTunes for $1.99.

I would really like to try this app. As a photographer I love to take pics with the iPhone camera, I actually think in the right lighting conditions the camera is pretty good. The feature I am most intrigued by is the cloning tool. It would be nice to be able to do some retouching on the phone.

    Thanks

I would like to review this application because I am a freelance photographer and it would be awesome to be able to edit images on the go. Looking forward to doing a review – please give me a promo code 🙂

I want this app because im looking for a app that is similar to photoshop and all the other ones are just adjusting contrasting and stuff and this app lets you color. I would use the pencil and brushes the most.

    OMG~!!! A app similar to photoshop~!!! Great~!!!

To be honest i am not photographer myself. T.T But i love taking photos of my everyday activity and posting it on my blog~ ^^ so with this app i can straight away edit those pic on the spot instead of needing to go home to do so on the com~!!!

I would be most likely using the contrast function as i us it all the time with photoshop.

I would like to use this app because I’m a cartoon like artist and I really need to edit my drawings on the go, I would use a computer but it broke and I won’t be getting a new one until a long time, so I depend on my itouch for art apps so hopefully you understand why I want it.
