Verminator Game Review

17 Jun

Since the days when Pocket God and Ant hill come out of app store, there are a few titles that gives you the thrill of controlling insects and killing them on your iPhone without actually killing them in reality.

Verminator is one of those games where it gives you the ability to torture or kill those big America Cockroaches on your iPhone or iPod Touch. These insects produce very fast. You can see them laying their eggs on your idevice and then scramble off to the other side of the screen.

Your task in this game is to catch hold of them by tapping on them and not letting them go. Then slowly, you can take their legs apart from them and eventually crush them easily on your iPhone or iPod Touch. You can adjust the sensitivity of the Touch controls under the game options if you feel your “killer” touch is not responsive enough.

Before each level starts, there will be a mission briefing on what to kill. You just need to follow the instructions before you can advance to the next level. There are bonus stages along with the levels you need to complete. Most of the bonus stages can be activated by completing the task with the timer showing more than 30 seconds. If you think it is easy, you are wrong. The cockroaches move very fast across the screen. You need to stop them in order to crush them, leaving an oozing sound and disgusting white liquid after they died.

You can flip the cockroaches over by shaking the iPhone or iPod touch. Then the cockroaches will stop moving and this gives you an advantage to kill them as they are being slowed down. Be careful as this method only last a few seconds. They will be up and running after that.

There is a miniature map that is situated on the top left corner of the screen. I find this map pretty useful as it allows me to track down the cockroaches and apply the punishment which they need. For tracking down the pests, you can use the touch screen and the accelerometer.

The timer will flicker when you are almost out of time. It is best to monitor the timer as you scroll left and right, looking for the pests to kill them.

If you forget what is the game’s objective for that level, simply tap on the “objective” button to bring out the pictorial representation of how many eggs or cockroaches you need to kill for that particular stage.

The game features 10 challenging levels with specific tasks to complete. You can share your high scores with your friends on facebook connect or see how you rank among the top scorers from around the world. This game is truly a game worth getting if you hate cockroaches and can’t wait to kill them.
