Fruit Jelly Game Review

19 Sep

Fruit Jelly is a enjoyable game that lets you play in two game modes – Adventure and Time Attack modes.

In the Adventure mode, there are some hints given before you start each level.

Pressing each of the left or right rotation button will disorient fruit jelly so he can navigate in otherwise will be compromising positions. After that, you can tilt your fruit jelly to continue eating the fruits until he reaches the flower.

In the Time Attack mode, all you need to do is to tilt your iPhone or iPod touch to make the fruit jelly move or you can use the rotational buttons from level 2 onwards. This game mode tests your best ability to make fruit jelly eat all the fruits in your best timing. This game mode has a ticker counter at the top right hand side of the game screen that counts how much time you need to complete each level. You can perfect your scores by retrying the game as there is a progress screen that displays your best timings.

The game also features retina display support so for those who are holding to iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4 will experience better quality graphics. This game has 40 levels and it can be a good time waster game if you just grab a copy to play on your iPhone or iPod touch.

What I like best about this game is the hilarious game music as you eat the fruits and approach the flower.

Graphics: 3.7 /5
Sound/Music: 5 / 5
Fun: 5/5
Addictiveness: 5 / 5
Value for money: 5 / 5
Overall:  4.7 / 5

This game currently is selling at 99 cents. It is definitely one of the games I will revisit on my iPhone and iPod touch.

Check out the game on iTunes now!

BulkyPix Brings Tiny Token Empires To Mac Today, iPhone, iPad Versions Coming Soon

San Francisco, USA, Paris, France – September 16, 2011 – Tiny Token Empires™ is an amazing turn-based strategy game with a mix of puzzle gaming to boot. Think Risk with Bejeweled type matching added for extra fun. The player plays one of the five major ancient empires: Rome, Greece, Egypt, Persia, or Carthage. By developing cities and armies, and annexing new territories, the player gradually expands his power over the world!

Screenshot 1

But Tiny Token Empires™ is also a “casual” strategy game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It contains a crazy comical universe: goofball gods, super cute mythological monsters, clown legionnaires, and much more.

Screenshot 3

In 200 B.C., the Mediterranean Basin was plunging into chaos. From Persepolis to the Pillars of Hercules, war was shaking up the entire known world. The monarchs of the five great empires of the era thus came together for a secret meeting on the neutral territory of Syracuse. What was at stake was bringing peace back to the kingdoms of gods and humans.

Some say that the match lasted hours… They also say that someone tried to cheat and that there was a fight. Basically, the attempt at conciliation failed yet again and the 3rd Punic War started!

Screenshot 4

On a 3D map dividing the Mediterranean Basin into 75 territories, each nation starts the match with one single territory that includes its capital. Each territory provides stable revenue, and each city is able to train units of infantrymen, archers, boats, priests, and the like. The point of the game is to mobilize maximum troop power to invade the maximum amount of territory, obtain maximum revenue, and so on, until the whole map is under total control (Free campaign mode).

Screenshot 5

In addition to the battle units, the player has a powerful hero and can recruit several generals to lead its armies. These characters can carry artifacts with mythical and destructive powers!

Tiny Token Empires™ is a turn-based game. At the beginning of each turn, the player collects the revenue linked to his territories and pays to maintain his armies. He can then improve his cities, move his troops, and attack his enemies! After he does all this, he clicks on the button “end of match”, which triggers his opponents’ turns.

Screenshot 2

When a battle starts between two armies, the game goes into Puzzle Mode in order to bring the confrontation to an end. A puzzle is presented in the form of a grid of 9×9 boxes. Each box contains a token. The armies and the 5 units that each of these armies can contain are displayed on both sides of this grid.

The tokens on the grid can be of 6 different types. Each type is related to a unit class (infantry, cavalry, etc.). When it’s his turn, the player can switch the position of two adjacent tokens in order to make three identical tokens (or more) line up. If this is the case, the power meter of the units linked to this kind of token increases.

When the power meter of a unit is full, the unit is ready to attack. Each attack inflicts damage (loss of life points) to opponent units. When the life meter goes down to 0, the unit is permanently destroyed. When all of an opponent army’s units are destroyed, the player wins the battle. At the end of fighting, the surviving units win experience points and become more and more powerful.

Finally, the player can opt for the automatic conclusion of combat if he considers that the combat is headed for defeat or victory, or if he is just more interested in the strategic aspect of the game.

Game mode

Tiny Token Empires™ includes four independent game modes: A Tutorial Mode that introduces you to the game, playing the roman nation. In the last match of this campaign, the player will confront 4 AI opponents on the whole map.

Four Campaigns, one for each other nation, where the player will have special goals: Africa conquest, Keep Carthage for 25 turns, etc. The stories of these campaigns use dialogues between heroes and cinematic.

A special Free campaign mode also allows players the possibility to challenge one or more AI opponents in matches with variable goals and parameters. In this mode, the player(s) can modify several settings: AI difficulty, initial fortune, etc.

Lastly, In Practice mode, a single player can give battle without having to manage the strategic aspect of conquest.

The player can just choose one nation and the level of difficulty, and then confront a standard enemy army of this level in a unique combat puzzle. And this mode will be also playable in Multiplayer (Internet or a local network).

  • A refreshing blend of strategy and puzzle games.
  • A “casual” strategy game offering a unique game experience completely adaptable to all kinds of players.
  • A simple interface and a very progressive tutorial campaign.
  • An offbeat comical universe that mixes antiquity, mythology, and humour!
  • The game is available in French, English and Spanish

The retail price  of the game is $24.99. Game is available for download from the Mac App Store:
